Hey Folks! Matt Jones here, the Whisk(e)y Chef! I'm super exicted to attend Ottawa Beer Fest, May 8 & 9, 2020. We're going to have some beer inspired fun with BBQ! Don't miss our booth! Cheers!
Matt has been working within the food and beverage alcohol industry as a cook, bartender, educator, marketer and consultant; so it's no suprise that Matt's passions are cocktails, culinary, hospitality, and travel. Known to many as the "Whisk(e)y Chef" Matt spent a decade traveling coast to coast across Canada preaching the gospel of whisk(e)y by spreading his message of "sip the whisk(e)y, drink the history" with the art of the Spirited Dinner. In 2016 Matt was officially highly commended by Whisky Magazine's Icons of Whisky for World Whisky Ambassador of the Year 2016 and won the Global Amerianc Whiskey Ambassador of the Year 2017. Matt was also the first Canadian and first bartender to be featured on the over of Whisky Magazine (issue 138), a global publication.
A Taste of Craft is excited to also be partnering with Chef Shane Christoffer.
After receiving his Grand Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute at the age of 18, Chef Shane Christoffer has spend the past 27 years experiencing, learning and perfecting his culinary skills, by working at some of Canada's top hotels and resorts from the east coast to the west coast, such at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal; the Queen's Landing Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake; and the Pantages Suites Hotel and Cosmopolitan Hotel in Toronto; which won the prestigious Conde Nast Award.
Shane made the move out to the West to broaden his culinary experience by working in the Okanagan Valley's wine country and then made his way to the top of the peak at Whistler, British Columbia, where he was running five establishments simultaneously as the Executive Chef. After spending some time in Western Canada, Shane made the move back to Ontario. He is currently enjoying a new and challenging position as the Culinary Director of a restuarant group in Toronto, where is he able to live his passion of launching new restaurant concepts.
